I'm listening with interest too.

Of particular interest to me:
I've just been uploading an abstract for the WALIS forum 
http://www.walis.wa.gov.au/forum? and was thinking that we should export 
the FOSS4G interoperability experiments into a roadshow workshop that 
can be demonstrated at conferences like WALIS.

So if you get a chance, it would be great if you and Tim could bring 
home any material along those lines.
