FOSS4G 2024


Dear OSGeo Community,
We are thrilled to share some exciting news that will make the hearts of
all open source and geospatial enthusiasts beat faster! The global event
FOSS4G 2024 (Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial) will be held for
the first time in Brazil, with the enchanting city of Belém in the state of
Pará, nestled in the heart of the Amazon, as its host!

Get ready for a journey of knowledge and innovation, set against the
backdrop of one of nature's most splendid wonders. The lush Amazon
rainforest will serve as the stage for one of the most anticipated events
in our community.

We want you to know that we are assembling a local organizing team
comprised of passionate and experienced Brazilians in OSGeo (Open Source
Geospatial Foundation) technologies. And if that's not exciting enough,
we're delighted to announce that we're joining forces with the Geoinquietos
Argentina team to make this event even more incredible!

Mark your calendars for December 1st to 8th, 2024, as these will be the
days when we come together for a week filled with learning, networking, and
exhilarating discoveries. Brace yourself to delve deep into the latest
trends in open source technologies, all amidst the vibrant energy of Belém.

But wait, there's more! Stay tuned for further updates, as we'll soon bring
you information on how you can get involved in working groups, volunteer
opportunities, submitting your work, sharing your experiences, and being an
active part of this amazing event.

This is a moment of celebration for our community, where passion for open
source, geospatial information, and collaboration come together in one
place.
