Hello All-
I might've met some of you at the Crisis Mappers conference last year or
some may know me through my research with PublicLab-
http://publiclab.org/profile/ajawitz

Until recently, my aerial mapping workflow consisted of a Kite+Mobius
Action Cam and GIMP+MapKnitter for post-processing. I am currently working
on a couple low-cost drone projects including a flying wing and a
quadrotor. The latter is 100% complete and is based on a Naze32 FC running
Cleanflight firmware. It will hopefully be in the air as soon as I find my
way around my new 9XR-Pro RC Transmitter...
The drone will use a Mobius Action Cam mounted on a self-stabilizing
gimbal and I've been planning to use OpenDroneMap for post-processing.

This much should be pretty straight-forward but things get somewhat more
complicated when I start looking into adding more sensors... Specifically,
I would like to add the new LIDAR-Lite from PulsedLight
<http://pulsedlight3d.com/>. Thus far the only information I can find about
the LIDAR-Lite in a 3D mapping setup involves connecting it to a Pixhawk FC
which AFAIK will not be compatible with my setup. Furthermore, I had
envisioned running the Lidar and any additional sensors from a standalone
processing unit like a Raspberry Pi A+. Such a setup would avoid
overloading the FC, while also allowing the sensor package to be easily
remounted on different platforms as needed.
Has anybody else used OpenDroneMap to process data from the LIDAR-Lite?
If not, how difficult would it be to incorporate such data? Is there a
particular hardware configuration that would best facilitate the data
integration (i.e RPi, Beaglebone, Arduino etc...)

For those familiar with PublicLab, I have a research note dedicated to
low-cost LIDAR options at-
http://publiclab.org/notes/code4maine/09-28-2014/options-for-low-cost-lidar

Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
