this is a gentle reminder to share your ideas and plans to apply for an open-geoscience related OSGeo budget in 2026, preferably today, so we can submit a budget.
 
The current draft budget is set to 0 USD for 2026. Use this opportunity to crank it up and get things going in 2026!

a happy new 2026 to you all !
 
I am reaching out because this is the time to prepare a budget for 2026.
 
For the last years, we have applied for similar annual budgets (3000 USD), but didn't manage to use up any on the provided funding:

If anyone of you all has plans for open-geoscience related activities which can be supported by OSGeo funding in 2026, please do speak up before January 9th 2026, so we can submit a budget request matching these activities.
 
In case that no actions are in preparation for 2026, I propose to adjust our annual budget plan and apply for a budget of _zero_ USD for 2026, 
so OSGeo doesn't have to earmark budget which can be put to use elsewhere.
 
Let's discusss ! Any thoughts are welcome.
