[OpenLayers-Dev] The OpenLayers Styles Framework

Hi,

for all of you that are interested in vector rendering and styling:
the Styles framework that emerged from the idea of styling vectors
using SLD is ready for review and covers most of your valuable
suggestions. Besides being able to use SLD for styling, this framework
should cover all vector styling needs and is well prepared to
introduce style maps (like known from KML) in OpenLayers.

The description also covers ideas and implementation proposals for
integrating the framework into the existing codebase, while keeping
backwards compatibility and switching OpenLayers to style definitions
based on a hash (= style map) of the new Style object.

The original ticket is at http://trac.openlayers.org/ticket/533. This
now only covers the SLD parser.

The new ticket http://trac.openlayers.org/ticket/1183 covers the Style
framework. #533 depends on it.
