[OpenLayers-Dev] hiding/showing controls

Hi list,

I need a standard (API) way to hide/show the MousePosition Control.

Looking at the OL Controls I don't see currently a standard way of doing so.

For controls in the viewport, there is minimizeControl and maximizeControl,
although these are not defined in Control.js.

Controls which have their own div live outside of the viewport. Should there
not be hideControl and showControl interface methods or something of the
like?

And maybe even define another constant for controls like the LayerSwitcher
and the OverviewMap etc.

OpenLayers.Control.TYPE_COMPONENT

?

Or am I overlooking something?
