[OpenLayers-Dev] Should control.destroy() call removeControl ?

Hi list,

In OpenLayers.Layer the destroy function call removeLayer() to remove itself
from the map.

Shouldn't OpenLayers.Control.destroy() do the same and call removeControl() ?
