[OpenLayers-Dev] openlayers + geoserver question

I've asked this on geoserver list, now I'll try here.

In geoserver you can preview your files in OpenLayers.

I want to write my own openlayers apps where you can click a feature to see
it's attributes.  It works fine if I test it from the geoserver page, but if
I copy the source and move it anywhere, everything works except getting the
feature info.

Any help?
