[OpenLayers-Dev] polyline encoding

Hello,

1st of all thanks to the openlayers community for such a useful product.

Wanted to know whether Polyline Encoding,  like the one mentioned here

http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/polylinealgorithm.html,
is supported in Openlayers.

If not then is there any plan to incorporate it soon? Is there any
alternate technique in use already to facilitate faster zooming and
rendering of curves/lines?
