[OpenLayers-Dev] State of feature editing in OL

Hi,

I've been using some of the code out of the sandbox/topp/wfs sandbox for 
doing WFS transactions against a GeoServer instance with some success 
and I'm wondering what the plans are for that code.  Will this code make 
it into a future version of OL?
I have also started to work on an attribute editing control with a form 
automatically generated based on the DescribeFeatureType response.  Is 
anyone working on similar functionality?  There is mention of this at 
http://trac.openlayers.org/wiki/Future/AdvancedEditing
