why not using the regular
var i, len, control;
for(i = 0, len = controls.length; i < len; i++) {
control = controls[i];
}
?
(the OpenLayers way, which is safer than using for in I guess)

Currently, control has a 'handler' property only. Would it make sense to have 'handlers' added a do the same kind of automatism as the new 'controls' property ?
