OpenLayers.Popup (and subclasses) provide a ui element that displays 
whatever content you like and is (or can be) anchored to a particular 
location on the map.

The content for the popup is up to you to generate.

For an example where some information related to map features is 
requested from the server, see the following:

The returned content could be used in a popup.
