[OpenLayers-Dev] OpenLayers 2.10 versus 3.0

Small digression for historical perspective:

Sometime around November of 2006 the vector support in OpenLayers was
started by Camptocamp and others in a sandbox.

In December of 2006, we had an IRC meeting about getting vector support
in OpenLayers. At this point, a good bit of the work had been done and
there were working examples using it.

In March of 2007, four of us got together, locked ourselves in a room
for a week, and worked solid to get the vector work into shape for the
trunk.

In May of 2007, 2.4 was released with the new vector support.

That was six months of pretty solid work to get vector support in
OpenLayers.

FOSS4G is three months away, and as far as I know, none of us will have
opportunities to dedicate full days working together on 3.0 before then.
