[OpenLayers-Dev] convert SQL statement to OGC filter

Hello,

This is not an OpenLayers specific question, but I'll try my luck in this large GIS developers community...
I'm trying to convert a SQL statement into an OGC filter.
My approach was to use javascript string methods to match the operators, create the respective OpenLayers filters and then use OpenLayers Format Filter to write the OGC filters.
This is working fine for simple statements but very buggy when the complexity of the statements increases.
Does anyone know a better way to perform it using only javascript?
