Just to finish this thread.

After more testing and a irc chat with Chris it appears to be the way an
evt is related to a feature in Canvas. So it is a Canvas issue: Opera
and Firefox on Android apparently do not use Canvas for OL by default.

There is already a ticket for this:
http://trac.osgeo.org/openlayers/ticket/2839
where there is being worked on :-)
