[OpenLayers-Dev] getting the OpenLayers.Tile instance for a position

Hey folks,

Quick question and probably a pretty simple one: Is there a way given
a lonLat to get the OpenLayer.Tile instance associated with a layer?

For example, in Layer/WMTS.js there is a getTileInfo which can
effectively find the col/row and construct the tile's URL, etc.  But
how does one take this info and fetch the associated Tile instance? I
initially tried the Layer.grid until I realized that it's dynamic as
you move the map...
