Hi
We talked about Git workflows for releases already, when we had this debate
about branches, and suppressing the numerous branches we had.
For 2.12 I plan to create a 2.12 branch. This branch will be temporary; it
will be deleted when 2.12 final is released. During the RC cycle commits
for changes that need to be in 2.12 will be added to the 2.12 branch, and
the master branch will be updated with merges from the 2.12 branch. For
each RC a tag will be created. When 2.12 final is ready a 2.12 tag will be
created and the 2.12 branch will be removed. If we need to do 2.12.1 During
the release process commits that aren't 2.12 material can continue landing
in the master branch.
Comments are welcome.
