 @bartvde: I didn't do them before, I just did them now 'on demand'. I
 tested the examples/xml.html file, and what I did is (just to clarify, I
 don't know if you have other methods), with firebug,  profile the
 consecutive execution of all the methods linked in the example. The times
 (I executed the test three times) spent by XML.write() function is:
                           RUN 1    RUN 2    RUN 3
 - without the patch:      1.853ms  2.14ms   2.423ms
 - with the patch:         1.847ms  2.393ms  2.019ms

 So I think there's no special relevance, have you experience some?
