 I ran some profiles with and without your patch. I was expecting less time
 spent in {{{centerLayerContainer}}} and/or {{{modifyDOMElement}}} bit I
 didn't observe this. But I think {{{positionImage}}} should be changed not
 to call {{{modifyDOMElement}}} twice when gutter is 0.
