Comment:

 We are also not happy with this change. When zooming in on a singleTile
 WMS layer above a base layer (tiled) this yields very strange visual
 effects, and there is no way to turn this off currently when using
 singleTile. Is it possible to make this configurable, e.g. by explicitly
 using a transition effect of KEEPOLDIMAGE or something similar?
