Comment:

 I am in favor of this patch. And in addition to what Tim has said already,
 developers will be able to see what went wrong in the network/connections
 pane of their favorite debugger, which will always be the full error
 message instead of the clipped one on 256x256 tiles.

 Patch looks good - please commit.
