 With r12129, the behavior of the WFS protocol configuration was changed:
 if no featureNS and no geometryName is configured, BBOX filters will be
 serialized without a propertyName. However, this is only valid for WFS >=
 1.1. According to http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/openlayers-
 dev/2011-July/007781.html, this ticket suggests using a null geometryName
 only for WFS versions >= 1.1.
