 Thanks for addressing this @bartvde. I uploaded a new patch which updates
 the getDataExtent APIdocs. I set the milestone to 2.11, because this is a
 change that should be mentioned in the release notes. Can you please add a
 note to the 2.11 release notes after you commit?
