 Hi fredj, I had never seen these functions :-)
 I confirmed they are not used.
 Please make a note in the 2.11 release notes (since we will likely
 rebranch 2.11 RC2 from trunk), Then it's good to go. Moving into 2.11
 milestone because of this.
