 Andreas, one difference I am seeing is that if I pan into the ocean with
 the NG example, the attribution gets cleared, however in the normal Google
 layer example, the previous attribution string remains. Also, if you get
 more to the west, the attribution actually is different, but I guess we
 cannot do anything about that.

 Also, is there any reason why the Terms of Use href is different?
 http://www.google.com/help/terms_maps.html versus
 http://www.google.com/intl/en_us/help/terms_maps.html

 Any reason why we are using
 http://maps.gstatic.com/intl/en_us/mapfiles/poweredby.png instead of
 http://maps.gstatic.com/intl/en_us/mapfiles/poweredby.png ?

 I think it would be good to keep as close as possible to the current
 Google layer for attribution, so also putting the attribution in the
 bottom right corner.

 Looking into the code next. This was just a usability check.
