 Two minor comment issues:
   * hitDetection comment: change "Default is false" to "Default is true"
   * getFeatureIdFromEvent comment: the function returns a feature, not a
 feature id.

 In getFeatureIdFromEvent, is there a reason that a bitwise or (|) is used
 instead of a logical or (||) ?
