 As discussed in #3194 the dimensions of the map div change while
 interacting with the map in IE.

 {{{
 The map changing in size on sequences like "leaving the map div, entering
 the map div, panning, ..." can also be observed on other examples, draw-
 feature.html for example.
 }}}

 Adding {{{<!DOCTYPE>}}} to the page makes the problem go away. Adding
 {{{style="border: 0 solid #000"}}} also makes the problem go away.

 It would be good to know more about this problem, and possibly come with
 some code in !OpenLayers to address it.
