 the problem is related to GOES project science image. the image in there
 is not properly positioned in OpenstreetMap, whereis  GOES imagery is
 widely used. I hope OpenLayer Team will do something for that.

 Example image and kml file will found in

 http://goes.gsfc.nasa.gov/goescolor/goeseast/hurricane2/geo/latest.kml

 http://goes.gsfc.nasa.gov/goescolor/goeseast/hurricane2/geo/latest.tif

 I added a point, from layer switcher control check GOES image to see the
 difference.
 I attached a example, which use coordinate from kml file, and convert tif
 to png file, all is hard coded to easily show the problem.
