 The patch
   * has a typo in the available events (it says 'removelayer' twice,
 should be 'preremovelayer').
   * the documentation also says "added" where it should say "removed"
   * the documentation for 'preremovelayer' should tell a user that
 returning false from a preremove listener would abort/cancel the removal
 of the layer
   * misses tests (most important)
