 thank you for this contribution. Do we have a CLA
 (http://trac.osgeo.org/openlayers/wiki/HowToContribute#ContributorsLicenseAgreements)
 from you? If not, please provide one as described in the wiki page.

 I have added a combined patch that can be applied at current trunk (I
 added two additional trivial tests). All tests pass in Firefox 4 and
 Chrome 11.

 IMO this can be committed as soon as we have a CLA from you. If you hurry
 up, it might get into the 2.11 release. I set the milestone to 2.11, but
 this is '''not''' a guarantee it'll be in 2.11.
