 ahocevar provided the following hints for the implementation: so the
 strategy could call getHitCount on the protocol to determine whether or
 not to fetch data based on a configurable threshold. The threshold would
 be configured on the strategy.

 Also the threshold should be either a number or a function.

 The name of the property is still to be discussed. Something else than
 maxfeatures or threshold. Maybe limit? TBD.
