[OpenLayers-Users] Feature selection in KaMap layer

My users keep asking for things I'd never considered.

They want to be able to draw areas on the map.  Fine.

Now they want to be able to select features on the map - roads, for
example, and use those as the boundaries of the areas they are drawing.
(Or as the centerline of buffer areas - they haven't mentioned it, but
I'm sure that is next.)

We're using Ka-Map layers, because it's the only choice that gives us
the speed they want, given the level of detail they insist upon.

Is there a way to select a feature - perhaps a road - in OpenLayers
using a Ka-Map layer?

Using any of the other layer types?
