[OpenLayers-Users] WFS layer requesting when not in range?

I was looking at network requests via FireBug and noticed that my WFS proxy
page was taking hits at very high zoom levels, even though the layer should
not be in range, and in fact is shown disabled in the layer selector.

While the layer does not draw, shouldn't it also not make a request to the
WFS server if it's not in range?

I'm running on the trunk from this morning.

Thanks,

John
