[OpenLayers-Users] MouseControl location

I have an interesting problem that is browser specific.

When I run my application in FF it works just fine. I am able to move all
the navigation controls (with exception of LayerSwitcher) to outside the map
with use of Divs.

If I run this in IE (6 & 7) it bombs out.

Is this a known bug? If so does anyone know when it is scheduled to be
fixed? Or, is there a better way to get the Mouse Control off the map?
