[OpenLayers-Users] Google Summer of Code ideas?

Tim,

I am not proposing caching GoogleMaps base layer, that is fine. We are
simply not able to overlay a TileCached remote layer atop of GoogleMaps
because of incompatibilities with either resolutions or projections (or both
I am not sure :)). Apparently, there are some OL hacks out there that have
addressed this but that would not be an ideal solution.

So given this initiative is targeted at the OL/GoogleMaps area, I think it
should qualify as a candidate project.

Cheers,

Is caching the google map images a gray area as far as the Google
license is concerned? Has anyone researched this?
