The 'line' layer is not a default in GeoServer. You need to configure
it. You can browse the admin interface to
http://crschmidt.net:8080/geoserver/ , if that hlps you figure out how
to set it up, but in general, configuration of GeoServer is beyond the
scope of the OpenLayers mailing list (since I have no idea how to do it
-- it took a lot of stumbling before I got it working in the first
place). Maybe someone else can be more helpful.
