Cool Bill. If you want pretty hillshade, you can use the USGS WMS
http://gisdata.usgs.gov/wmsconnector/com.esri.wms.Esrimap?ServiceName=USGS_EDC_Elev_NED_3
layers: "HR-NED.IMAGE"
