[OpenLayers-Users] change extent of an existing image layer

Hi,

I would like to change extent (bounds) of an existing image layer.

I am using a single image layer in which I switch among several images
produced with my application. For this, I use setUrl function. However, I do
not see any setBounds or setExtent among functions applicable for an image
layer.
Does somebody know a work around or if this is possible at all?
