You shouldn't. Your MapServer is running on Dreamhost, right? All you
have to do is ensure that the:
http://myhost/
Is the same in both your WFS layer and the HTML document you're
accessing.
You can generally *ensure* this by making the WFS layer load from
"/cgi-bin/mapserv" -- if the URL is relative (rather than absolute) then
there's no way you can break the same origin policy.
I would recommend tryign this, unless I'm seriously misunderstanding
your problem.
