[OpenLayers-Users] conditional pan of map based on comparision of latlon

Hi All,

I want to compare a bound=new OpenLayers.Bounds()  with map.getCenter()...so
that if that bound is less than map.getCenter() ..the map will zoom and pan
to lower half of map and if its greater than map will zoom and pan to upper
half of map. Can any1 quickly suggest how to do this?
