[OpenLayers-Users] WFS Vector data styling and filtering

Hi guys,

We're using openlayers 2.6 o show markers served from geoserver WFS that 
is backed by postgis.

What we need to do is to dynamically setting  a ogc filter to the WFS 
requests made to the server and to style markers according to feature data.

So far I have managed to display markers using OpenLayers.Layer.WFS
However, reading mail archives suggests that the WFS Layer does not 
support the OGC filter parameter.

For styling, we've been looking to something along this:

So, does anyone have any suggestions regarding which Layer subclass to use?
