[OpenLayers-Users] polygons intersection area

Hi list,
I’m working on a tool for intersecting geometries similar to the one in the example http://openlayers.org/dev/examples/intersects.html.
However, I need to measure the intersection area of two polygons. 
Anyone has an idea about how to perform this task?
