[OpenLayers-Users] OpenLayer + Google Maps API key

Hi, 
I’ve created application based on GWT-OpenLayer. It works OK. Application enables client to change that key in configuration form but I’ve noticed that when I put incorrect key, popup window informs me: 

“This web site needs a different Google Maps API key …” and it is OK,

but after all, map is opening. I think it should not. I checked this also using simple example from http://workshops.opengeo.org/stack-intro/openlayers.html and problem is the same. 

Does anyone know how to solve the problem?
