[OpenLayers-Users] openlayers working from local tiled images?

I am using openlayers with data that is being distributed on DVD with 
the html, rather than only using web-based services. Nice would be the 
ability to tile some very large images and have openlayers access this 
tiled image layer from off the DVD. Is this possible? Can tilecache 
layer be fooled into doing this?
