This is a patch that may be use to add halo to vector features labels
This

Subject: Text shadows on labels to increase readability.
Hi,Â
I'm new with OpenLayers so please bear with me.
I would like to add a text shadow to the label of a vector feature, so that
the label is readable against a range of different background colours.
I'm using the SVG renderer.
Is this possible with OpenLayers v2.10?
If not - is anyone else working on it, and/or is it on a development
roadmap?
Thanks,
Darren.
