[OpenLayers-Users] debugging a style filter

I am trying to draw some data from an WFS data sources by applying  a 
supplied stylemap argument to the layer constructor.

No data is rendered.

If I remove the style map data is rendered.

So I suspect that I am having issues with setting up the default stylemap.

My stylemap is created from the default values for a symbolizer as listed
in renderer.js.

Whats the best way of debugging this type of thing?

I suspect that I am  open layers is correctly working, but the data I have
provide is corrupt or has insane values  eg  attempting to draw a point
with a radius of 0.0001 epixel tc.
