[OpenLayers-Users] regarding OpenLayers.Request.GET() method for GetCapabilities request

Hello,
I am a newb to the OpenLayers. I have made a simple httpserver or Web map
server on own RHEL5 machine(localhost:6117).
Its working properly for "GETMAP" request using OpenLayers.Layers.WMS()
method.


Now I am trying to send a request for request type "GetCapabilities"  using
OpenLayers.Request.GET() method.
I use apache server to run the DisplayMap.html file(below)  and web map
server for the GetCapabilities response (localhost:6117)
Here's my code:

(Every time when I run this,its go to the failure function and show alert
404 request status. I also did modification in proxy.cgi and put
localhost:6117 in allowed hosts list.)
