[OpenLayers-Users] Custom LayerSwitcher UI

Hi there,

I am make some additions to our mapping client, currently it has a number
layers defined.

What I want to do is to add some alternative layers for various zoom
levels/resolutions.  The LayerSwitcher control seems the perfect control to
use, what I'm not so sure about is the fact that we don't want the default
UI aspect of the LayerSwitcher.  What we really want is to select the layer
from a combo box, when the user selects a Layer from the combo box, the
layer is switched and some other events are executed e.g. get legend
specific to that layer.

Does anyone have any ideas on the best way I can go about this, thanks in
advance for any feedback you can provide.
