[OpenLayers-Users] marker implementation using images ?

I don't think these implementations are comparable to what Google is doing.
These implementations require you to click a button and for a request to go
back to the server and come back.
Google doesn't ever go back to the server, they (efficiently) send
everything over on map/layer load and then are able to know when you hover
over a feature/box.
