[OpenLayers-Users] projections support for zoomify layer

I'm working on an offline application which should work on low end 
hardware, such as netbooks.
Is there a simple solution to integrate maps without mapservers 
(geoserver,mapserver).
The zoomify  layer would be perfect if it could support projections.
Is it possible and how to get this layer projection ready?
